HERE AT MMTA, COMMUNICATION HAS NO LIMITS

HERE AT MMTA, COMMUNICATION HAS NO LIMITS ❀

Does this sound familiar?

  • You don’t understand why your child isn’t talking yet or they say many words, but nobody understands them but you

  • You watch your child struggle to make friends, and no amount of play dates or after-school activities have helped

  • You see needs in your child or teen that educators and therapists don’t see or don’t take seriously, wasting precious teaching time

  • The therapy your child has experienced seems like it just skims the surface, and your child isn’t making meaningful progress

What if instead…

  • You had someone who took the time to “get” your child and provided consistent and effective therapy that targeted their areas of need

  • You had a team of therapists who knew how to break down skills and think outside the box to teach them in a way that made sense to your child

  • You had a therapist with expertise in the realm of speech and language but who also knew that connection, fun, and shared laughter were the basis for progress

at mmta WE specialize in social language

We believe that social connection lays the groundwork for learning effective communication

At MMTA, we create a supportive and fun atmosphere where our clients of all ages can engage in real social interactions to improve their communication skills. We understand that everyone learns differently so we customize our therapy methods to fit each individual's unique style. We believe that building self-confidence is paramount, and we're here to nurture that growth every step of the way.

  • "There is not enough space, or even enough words to describe what Lynn Medley did for our family"

Nineteen years ago, my oldest son was 18 months old, not talking, obsessed with garage doors and steps, escalators and elevators and loved things that went up and went down. Though he was pointing, and referencing, he was not talking, not putting words together, seemed frustrated, and certain environments seemed to overwhelm him. I really needed a quarterback, a plan, and a team of people. Lynn Medley to the rescue. Meeting our son, she quickly was able to size up the problem. And so, week after week, Lynn worked with our son, and us, so that we could work with him at home in between sessions. She spearheaded communication amongst the other therapists that we employed, sometimes working through and anticipating issues before they became issues teasing through questions or what was the best approach. She could see his many strengths and was confident we would be able to leverage them well to help him reach his full potential. Now, every time I am with him and his amazing friends, and I get to see what an amazing friend he is, and how much he is loved, I think of her again and thank her. My son has been awarded every opportunity to reach his full potential. With all that he has accomplished, we know there is more to come, as there are no limits. Certainly, no limits to what he views as possible, and all of this is because of Lynn Medley.

meet the founders

Lynn Medley & Jan Mesaric

Our story started in 1995 when Jan, a college intern, met Lynn, the first speech therapist at the Kennedy Krieger’s Institute Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) in Baltimore, MD. We worked together there in many capacities until 2002, at which point we pursued separate paths before reuniting in 2005 in the greater Philadelphia area to establish MMTA.

We have proudly built a team of multi-talented speech-language pathologists committed to delivering expert, compassionate, and innovative evaluation, therapy, training, and consulting services. Our services tailor an array of methodologies to help clients (and their teams) with a range of communication abilities meet their goals of communication and social connection.  With exceptional training and over 30 years of experience in autism and additional focuses in apraxia, AAC, and Down syndrome, we strive to be a trusted partner, mentor, and ally in creating a learning environment where fun and expertise build meaningful progress.
